My parents forced me to eat three times a day growing up.  No joke.  Three times.  Every.  Single.  Day.  And it wasn’t always stuff I liked, either.  Matter of fact, I complained a lot about what my mom made.  “Ewww, gross!  Sauteed zucchini?  Seriously?  Mom, you know we hate this stuff!”  So as I approached adulthood I made an important decision.  Since my parents forced me to eat while I was growing up, I decided I was done with meals.  Oh, here and there I’ll eat out of obligation.  I mean, family traditions like Thanksgiving and Christmas, yeah, I’m there.  But daily eating?  No way.  I’m done.

Story Of Success

Success in life, whether it is weight loss or any kind of achievement in life ,is not easy. It requires hard work determination, positive attitude and the will to try new methods.
It doesn’t matter how much money you spend or how many new things you buy in order to achieve your goal, if you don’t have the right attitude and determination you will not succeed.
I was a bit concerned about my body weight, I began to research on weight loss plans and methods. Thousands of articles,and videos and products are available in the market.
I was confused.
I began to read only rhe comments.
Most said I didn’t lose weight or some lost but gained back…..and others who were successful were the ones who were determined and worked hard. They knew their body.
I learned
* consistency
* determination
* hard work
* positive attitude
* set goal
* time
are the factors/ tools required
There is absolutely no need to spend money on going to the gym or buying all the diet plans. With a bit of planning of your diet, a few minutes of exercise/ walk you can achieve it.
I lost 7 pounds.
Hope I will continue till I reach my goal.

Success is a journey, there is a lot of ups and downs, bad roads, rainy days, ….don’t stop.
Continue your journey, with a positive attitude.

Each Day Is A New Promise

The whole earth is filled with awe at your wonders; where morning dawns, where evening fades, you call forth songs of joy. Psalm 65: 8

I always begin my day looking east through my window. It will be pitch dark when I wake up, I sit on my favorite couch and look out the window. I read my bible, pray and then I see light….breaking of the dawn, new birth, new day, and new promises.

The East and the sunrise reminds me of God, His promise to be with us, a new hope, a fresh start. No matter how bad your days have been, your past had been, your childhood had been, and we can always heal and start fresh again.10409134_10208545792350116_354284831601492310_n

The LORD’S loving kindnesses indeed never cease, for His compassions never fail. Lamentations 3:22-23

There is tremendous power in that feeling, power of rebirth, new possibilities. The marvelous sunrise is a reminder that God’s love and kindness never cease. So let’s look towards the rising sun and praise THE LORD, our Creator, for we don’t know how long we can enjoy this beauty.

Each moment we worry and be sad is a moment of happiness lost, which can never be recovered.

I am blessed to live on an island, though I don’t live on the beach or by the beach, I am somewhat close to the ocean, and on the eastern side of the island. Every day the sunrise is different and stunning. The hue, the serenity, and the beauty is beyond description. It’s like all heavens shall praise the LORD. Look at these pictures and see how each day is different and beautiful.

PANCAKES, PANCAKES, PANCAKES

PANCAKES എന്നു കേൾക്കുമ്പോൾ ന്വ്മ്കുടെ മനസ്സിൽ തേങ്ങയും, പന്ച്ചസരെയും, ജീരകവും ഇട്ടു മടക്കി ചുട്ട അപ്പ അന്ന്. 12 വർഷം മുമ്പ് വരെയും എന്റെ PANCAKE അതായിരുന്നു.

ഈ നാട്ടിൽ VANNU കുറച്ചു നാൾ കയിഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ മകൾ ചോദിച്ചു “MAMMA, can you please make the real pan cake, not your kind, the real one. ”

അന്ന് കുറെ recipe ഒക്കെ വായിച്ചു പഠിച്ചു pancake ഉണ്ടാക്കി. മക്കളുടെ certificate കിട്ടി. “Getting there mamma, you are getting there. ”
ഇപ്പോൾ ഒരു expert അന്ന്
pancakes are simple and very easy to make, like a cake soft and fluffy, made with flour, sugar, butter and eggs, and no baking.

Here you go,
Ingredients
*Maida 1 Cup
* Sugar 2Tbsp
* Egg 1
*Baking powder 1Tsp
* Baking soda 1/2 Tsp
* milk 3/4 Cup
* Vinegar 2Tbsp
ground cinamon and vanilla (optinal) 1Tsp.

1. Combine milk and vinegar and keep aside for 5 minutes to become sour. You may use curd/yogurt instead of vinegar.
2. Mix all the dry ingredients in a bowl.
3. Whisk egg into the sour milk.
4. Pour the milk and egg mixture into the flour mix and stir in without lumps. Keep aside the batter for another 5 to 10 minutes.
5. Scoop the batter on to a heated skillet/ tawa and cook till bubbles appear on the top. Then flip it over.
Don’t forget to grease the skillet wih butter or oil before pouring the batter.

1. Add blueberries to this batter for blueberry pancakes Or banana to make banana pancake.

2. To make NO CARB PANCAKES mix two eggs into one mashed banana. Grease the skillet wih butter or oil and pour the mixture. Cook on low fire. Egg cooks well on low heat. No flour or butter needed.

 

FRITTATA(OMELET )Kerala Style

OMELET /FRITTATA

This recipe was born from the idea of Frittata, which is an Italian dish. I have modified it to suit our taste.
We also have a reluctance to eat eggs, thinking that it is not good for health. In fact Eggs are low in calories and fat. One large egg contains just 77 calories and five grams of fat and each egg is packed full of six grams of protein, as well as all nine essential amino acids. They are also rich in iron, phosphorous, selenium and vitamins A, C and B12. In addition to all these health facts eggs are also inexpensive and easy to prepare. Even though they are small, they keep you full for a long time.
Here is my omelet or Frittata recipe.
4 eggs
I onion finely chopped
I cup of grated vegetables of your choice ( spinach, carrots, mushroom, cabbage, beans are a few to list)
1 tsp of ginger and garlic paste.
2 tbsp of milk or water
Salt and pepper
Green chillies
Butter or oil
Heat pan and sauté the onions with ginger/garlic paste and then add all the vegetables and sauté it with salt and pepper.
After this mixture cools down a bit mix it into the beaten eggs. Water or milk added to this makes the omelet fluffy,
Grease the pan and make the omelet.
You can make two thick omelet or four thin ones.

TIP
Always make omelets on low heat. If the pan is too hot it burns the bottom and leaves the middle uncooked. You need a little patience. When the top is almost dry, flip the omelet.
You can cover the pan and the steam that builds up enhances the cooking. It also helps to cook the omelet evenly.
It is a healthy and filling meal.
You can roll it in a roti or chapati and make a wrap or make a sandwich with bread.
The Frittata is topped with cheese and bacon and the only spice is salt and pepper,
